My hubby doesn’t normally like strata……but he loves this one!! YUMMY!!!
Cheese Strata

1/3 cup butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 clove garlic, pressed
10 slices old bread (French is good)
2 cups extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons onion, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Dash of cayenne pepper
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Mix butter, mustard and garlic. Spread evenly over each slice of bread.
Cut each slice into thirds.
Line bottom and sides of ungreased 8×8 baking dish with half the bread slices, buttered side down, cut to fit.
Mix cheese, parsley, onion, salt and pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper; spread evenly over the bread slices in the dish. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
In a medium bowl, beat eggs and gradually add milk. Pour over bread.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, or overnight.
Bake, uncovered, about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let strata stand 10 minutes before cutting into it.

That sounds good! I’ve never had a strata, but I love cheese and eggs. I’m afraid of the bread in stratas LOL. Afraid it’ll be soggy and gross hehe
