I have a few minutes to blog before I head to work.  I am icing my back.  I have to ice for a little over an hour to make sure I make it through a fair portion of my work day.  I try to make it about 5 hours at work.  I seem to do ok with that.

Not much new with me.   I am planning on taking Tommy to the Circus on Saturday I hope my back cooperates.  I bought the tickets before the accident.

We founda great new indoor water park/hotel to stay with the boys for our end of the summer party.  I am going to call to make reservations today.  It is a bit later than I normally make reservations.

I went to the Chiropracter yesterday.  It was painful to have the adjustment again, but I iced right away so I think that helped.

I am working on de-cluttering my house room by room before summer.   I think I will have the Vets come for a pick up one more time before summer.  I am not doing a garage sale since that just takes too much time and I have to store the stuff too.  I just want it out!!  Last week I worked on our bedroom.   I do have a few more things to do in there yet.  I want to wash the curtains and need to clean the closet!

This week I am working on my living room.   I am really enjoying the group started by Midwestblahs.  There are some great members and they really are motivating me.  I am also going to work on planning some outings for this summer.   It will once again be up to me to do the things with the kids since hubby is working on Saturday all summer.   I am going to start getting a list of activities scheduled now.   I want to be more busy this weekend.  We probably won’t be able to take any long vacations due to hubby’s work schedule and our budget.  I hope to budget in some small outings.  This could be difficult since we have such an increase in daycare cost over the summer with Erik’s needs.  I will have to sit down with our budget and figure it out.  Last summer I changed my deductions to have more money over the summer, but my hubby doesn’t want me to do that this summer.  ARGH!!!

TO DO TODAY:

Call to schedule end of summer vacation
Call for Josh’s last driving lesson
Call vets to schedule next pick up
Call attorney about denied hospital bill from accident
Mail Child Support
Make shopping list and grocery list
Living Room Missions
Laundry
Evening Routine

I am trying very hard to get back on the Flylady train!!!     SO I am in bed by 10:00.  My sink is clean, my washer and dryer are running.   I know what we are having for supper tomorrow night, Chicken Rolls.   I didn’t complete all of my bedtime routine, but most of it.  I picked up the toys in the living room it is a good start!   I worked for 15 minutes in my zone.  I cleaned off and polished our coffee table.

Pretty quiet evening here…we made cookie afater supper and watched a bit of TV.  Hubby is now working on some church flyers for EASTER.   I am icing my back in bed while I type away.

I start a good book last night.  It is very interesting.  It is called Finding Alice by Melody Carlson.   It is the story of Alice Laxton a college senior who slips into the world of Schizophrenia.   It is so interesting how she talks about her thought and feeling of what is going on with her.  She has some very lucid moments and then is paranoid again.  What a tortured world of suffering for her.   I have an aunt with Schizophrenia so I find this very interesting.  This book as well as the one I read a while back, I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb the main characters have delusions that they are chosen by God for a higher purpose and that is why others are trying to kill them, etc.  I do recall many of my aunts delusions we would hear about and I don’t recall many of the biblical nature.  I wonder if it is common for persons with Schizophrenia to have religious based hallucinations?

I am off to send a few more emails and then I will read for a while.  Good Night!!!

Dishes are done…with Tommy’s help of course

After dishes I tried out those Sink Fizzes from Pampered Chef.  They are in the sinkright now so I will see how they work.

Then after Tommy was done helping with dishes, we put together his trainset.  See I told you my living room is over taken by toys!!!!!

I just woke from my nap, it is about 4:30.   Tommy is still napping, Josh is doing his homework and Hubby and Erik went to try to fly his kite.   I think I will make my bed back up after my nap and go wash the dishes.   I can smell supper cooking.   I love using my crockpot on Sunday’s.

FOR BRUNCH TODAY……

FRENCH TOAST

6 Eggs
1-1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
3/4 cup milk
6 tablespoons maple syrup
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
One loaf of Texas Toast Bread
butter

In a shallow dish, beat together the eggs, sugar, milk, maple syrup, and cinnamon with a fork until well bleneded.  DIp each piece of bread into the egg mizture coating completely.

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.  Cook the bread a few at a time for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until golden brown.    I personally have an electric griddle that I use to make these.  It holds 8 pieces at a time, so this goes pretty fast.  I do not put any syrup on these when I eat them as I think they are pretty sweet already.  Hubby and kids still drown it in syrup.  They love these!!

This recipe makes a triple batch of french toast as we freeze individual ones in a sandwhich bag for breakfast throughout the week.  Simple warm in the microwave and you have a very quick breakfast.   What a time saver and Tommy actually eats then very well.

Now for supper tonight…..

Easy Vegetable – Beef Soup

1 pound of ground beef
1 14-ounce can beef broth (1-2/3 cups)
1-1/4 cups water
1  – 10-ounce package of frozen mixed vegetables
1  – 14-1/2-ounce can tonatoes, cut up
1  – 10-3/4-ounce can condensed tomato soup
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1 teaspoon dreid Italian seasoning, crushed
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

In a large skillet cook beef until brown.  Drain off fat.

Transfer meat to a 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker.  Add the remaining ingredients to the cooker.

Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 7 to 8 hours or on high -heat setting for 3-1/2 to 4 hours.

**I substituted ground turkey for the beef and chicken broth for the beef broth.

NAPTIME….my favorite time of the day.   Before nap I watched a TELLETUBBIES video with Tommy that he checkout from the library.   Man are those things boring!!   But I iced my back and he snuggled with me.  After the show was over it was nap time.   He went down for his nap at 1:30 so I quickly cleaned up our coffee table which took exactly 15 minutes.   Now I have a nice cold diet mt dew and some free time in my newly cleaned bedroom.  AAAHA……life can’t get much better.

I have a couple of recipes from today to type up then I will probably read and fall asleep for a few.  Gotta Love naps on Sunday afternoons.
