Tommy took a 3 hour nap this afternoon, but woke up very clingy and crying.  He just didn’t seem right so we took him to Urgent Care.  He wasn’t running a fever and would smile off and on, so I wasn’t sure he was even sick or not.   We finally saw the Dr and Tommy has a double ear infection, pussy fluid behind each drum and they were buldging, whatever that means.   So he is on anyibiotics and hopefully he will sleep fine tonight.  I wish I could tell when this kid is sick.  It is so hard and sometimes I take him in and they go, it is just teething…DUH!!! 

SO hopefully he will do better next weekend when we have to stay in a hotel in Aberdeen, SD!

THE TRIP FROM HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, major whiny entry below.  Sorry, you were warned!!  Ok, so we leave at 11:30 on Saturday morning to go to my sisters.  The van of course has a bad connect on the battery terminal and we need to fix before we leave.  I am very proud of myself, since i have been telling hubby to fix it for weeks.  He of course waits until the minute we are ready to leave and then realizes he needs a part.  I didn’t get upset, really took it in stride, since we really were on any time schedule for my sisters.

So we are off….the drive went fine.  Note: Tommy did not sleep on the way to Fargo at all, but did fall asleep finally a couple of blocks from my sisters house.  I end up waking him to get out of the van.  We then pick up my sister and drive my nieces to deliver all the baby stuff.  She was very thankful for alll the stuff, carseat, bouncy car, clothes, and high chair to name a few.

After that we head to my sister’s.  She has a turkey in the oven and I clean her kitchen.  She has a fuit fly problem so I try to get rid of them by cleaning the counters, but didn’t find the source of them.  Weird…

Tommy was playing with my nephew and his girlfriend.  I tried to get him to lay down for a nap there, but he would jsut cry since he was unsure of where he was, etc.   We decided to go to the hotel and check in and hope he falls asleep on the drive there before supper.  No such luck. 

We head back to my sis’s and have supper.  So after supper around 9:30 or so, Tommy is getting cranky so we head off to the hotel.  He falls asleep on the way there about 5 minutes.  We get into the room set up his bed and get him in his PJ’s and feed him a bottle.  He cries and cries and won’t settle down.  Paul and I are amazingly tired.   So after about an hour of screaming I decided to go drive and put Tommy to sleep.  I get in the van and drive up and down University Street.  He falls asleep, I come back to the hotel and put him in bed.  I crawl in bed and go to sleep.  He wakes up screaming at about 45 minutes later.  After trying to calm him down a number of times, Paul takes himm for a drive.  Paul returns to the hotel at about midnight.  Tommy sleeps until 3:45 and starts screaming again.  ARGH!!!   We are so tired and barely functioning. 

Needless to say we left the hotel at 5:00 after three hours of sleep since we were waking the entire place.  Got to go, Tommy is screaming again! 

Morning………I stayed up too late last night cross stitching.  I am taking my project with to work on during the drive to my sisters.  So I worked on it a bit last night to get it all situated as to where I was on it.  I have been working on the same project for years.  Maybe someday I will even get it done.

I have to pack this morning yet too.  The van will be very full with all the stuff I am taking for my niece’s baby.  Tommy sure is done with a lot of this stuff.  Car seat, bouncing car, etc.

Sorry I haven’t blogged much lately, kind of been in a funk.  The weather here is ishy, it rains all the time.  Soon that rain will turn to snow.  I hate that.

Not much going on these days.  Work is busy, busy, busy.  We are needing to write new budgets for next years services.  I wrote 9 plans in September and have 9 more to write in October and 9 in November.  I also am trying to get in a number of school visits before the holiday season and see how the children are doing in their school programs.  So needless to say I am busy and not in the office much.  But I am feeling good about it, since I am really organized right now and seem to be staying on top of my deadlines.  But still working some late nights.  Tonight I got home around 7:30 and next Tuesday I have a 9:00am meeting and a 7:00pm meeting.  That will be a long night.  ARGH!!!  Oh well………..

Let’s see what else…..Josh is doing well in communications class, which I am happy about.  He hasn’t had much homework so that is starting to concern me, but he gets upset if I question him.  I guess I will just wait and see what the grades look like. 

I just finished listening on tape to A Year By the Sea: Thoughts of an Unfinished Woman.  The first book I have completed in ages.  I enjoyed it, but I really wanted more from it.  It did make me think about life, etc. 

Thursday is my night I actually watch TV.  YEAH!!  Hubby taped Friends for me.  LOL!!  It was so great!  Loved it!   I also watch ER, which left enough time to squeeze a bath and supper in for Tommy in between shows.  So needless to say I didn’t accomplish much else.  OH well……..tomorrow is another day.

Tomorrow is our ECFE class.  Tommy loves school.  After that I am heading to work.  I am touring a two homes developed by a company I am looking at having start a new home.  They have one home that has a wonderful sensory integration room.  SO I will have my client try out some of the equipment to see if we should purchase it for his home.  The other home is a secure house with an unusual fence and alarm system I want to look into.   

I hope to get home from work at a decent hour so I can pack.  We are leaving on Saturday early afternoon to go to my sister’s house.  My niece is pregnant and I am taking over some of Tommy’s baby equipment and clothes for her.   She is a waitress and could use the items.  I think she is pretty excited about receiving them.   DRATS!!!  I still need to get a motel room for Saturday night in Fargo, ND.   It will be just Paul, Tommy and I going to Fargo.  Josh will be with my ex-hubby for the weekend. 

Well I think that catches ya up on our exciting life!   October is so busy for us.  We have an out of state wedding one weekend and Tommy’s 1st Birthday!!!!  And you know that will be an event for pictures!!!!!!!!!  I can’t believe my baby is going to be 1.   It is going so fast
