Hello – today has been a long day and it is time to head to bed! YEAH!! I got off work a bit early tonight, but will work late tomorrow most likely. We had to be at Erik’s school conferences today at 5:00. As always he is doing poorly, not paying attention, not grasping the material. Good thing his neuro-psych appointment is next month. Maybe we can get some more answers as to what his problems are exactly and how to help him. Right now they say low average IQ and ADD, but he is failing so in shcool. Of course he doesn’t qualify for special ed or additional services since his IQ is over 70, but not much over! ARGH…Title 1 services ended this year for him, so he has no extra help in the classroom at all. Hard to just watch him repeatedly fail. So hopefully this outside assessment will give us all some direction. The school had a fundraiser and were selling Krispy Kreme Donuts…YUmmy….had to get some!
Tommy and I went outside and walked in a big pile of leaves and he even let me bury him once. We kicked the leaves and threw them in the air. He enjoyed that!! I even took a picture of course! Tommy ate with a spoon for the first time tonight. He got the food to his mouth and there was still some left on the spoon, very cute!
I spent one hour tonight doing my very quick cleaning of the house….the flylady way. But I still have a number of things to do yet this week, but at least a few things are ticked off the list.
Tomorrow I have a 9:30 meeting I am dreading…what is new, then I am off to attend two meetings in Red Wing, MN. I need to make it back home by 7:00 to attend Josh’s school conferences.
I am off to prepare for tomorrow and head to bed. Create yourself a great day!
TO DO THIS WEEK:
You’re on the right track to finishing that list this week!
Busy, busy, busy! Remember to squeeze a moment or two in there for you too!
Wow, you have a lot to do!
And hey, re: Erik, I thought if there was a discrepancy between IQ and performance (like if IQ is higher than grades in school), then a student is eligible for Spec. Ed? Good luck with the assessment, it must be difficult. And I’m sure you do this, but does Erik have something non-school-related to work on that he excels at, a sport or something? Good luck!
And yes, we got our electric blankets out, too. We had the first frost last night!
