Our Weekend……

SATURDAY…

We started off our day with Tommy’s soccer game.  He seemed really tired throughout the game.   After that we went to the library and return some books and get some more of course.   I was happy to get the new Naomi Ragen book, Saturday Wife!   I will start that this weekend.

I wasn’t feeling very well on Saturday.  My knee has hurting and I had an ear ache.  Fun…I am going to have surgery on my knee on December 19th to have it fixed!  I can’t wait.  I really hate being in so much pain and unable to walk much at all.   As a family went to the Mall Of America to celebrate Erik’s birthday.  He wanted to eat at the Rainforest Cafe.   The food was not that great…but very expensive.   ARGH!!   Then we went to Camp Snoopy and rode rides for a few hours.  We were at the mall for about 6 hours and man was my knee hurting after that.  We all came home and went to bed right away, except Josh of course who went out with friends.

SUNDAY ……

We were all so tired so we slept in late this morning.  We all needed to catch up on some sleep.   Everyone slept in until after 10:00.   I think that was a good thing as we all seem to have been running on empty.   After hubby was up and I finished my meal planning for the next few weeks, I went to get groceries.   I have not bought any groceries for 3 weeks.   I am trying to stretch our shopping out to 3 weeks instead of two.  The less I am in the store the less money I tend to spend.  Before heading off to get groceries I put beef stew into the crockpot for supper.

Our menu plan for the next few weeks is in the previous post.  I went to Aldi to get a majority of my groceries.  I spent $164.70 at Aldi.  I then picked up the last couple of things at Festival since it is very near Aldi.  I spent $19.96 at Festival.  So I spent a total of $185.66 for groceries that will last for the next 2 to 3 weeks.   We don’t follow the menu plan exactly.  If we have leftovers we eat that instead of what is next on the menu plans.  Then we have an extra meal for later.  That is why many times our two week menu plan might go for 2-1/2 to 3 weeks depending on what is going on for us.

I am off to get going on some laundry before supper.  My evening will consist of many loads of laundry.   I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Hello Ms. Jen,
I like your site. You worked hard to make it fancy and elegant. The pictures are a nice touch. I see that you have your ups and downs. We all do! That’s the kind of world that we live in now. Fortunately, it isn’t going to stay this way much longer!
I like to write articles about God and religion on my site. I want to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times. Jesus gave us a message of hope that is in the Bible: 14 “When the good news about the kingdom has been preached all over the world and told to all nations, the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14) (CEV) I hope you get a chance to look at them.

  2. I’ve heard that about Rainforest Cafe…expensive and not great.  We don’t have one around here so I’m not too tempted to find out myself.

I wondered what you did when you had leftovers.  I made a giant vat of spaghetti sauce by accident on Friday night and we’ve been eating that ever since.

Ooo, I didn’t know there was a new Naomi Ragen book out.  I read everything she puts out.  My favorites are Sotah and The Ghost of Hannah Mendes.

    Have a good week, Jen!
