Zvanoizu – menu planning gives me a headache too.  Luckily my hubby could eat the same thing everyday.   I am the one that hates to eat the same thing.   I think the biggest thing that helps me to have a varied menu is I plan in advance.   The other thing is I try to have an italian type meal once a week and soup once or twice a week.  I based my menu around what meat I have in the freezer so that helps too.   I know some people have certain days of the week are certain things.  Like Mondays are Soup, Tuesday is Italian and Beef on Wed, Pork on THurs and Pizza on Fridays.  I can’t stick to anything like that so I just wing it.  Another thing I find helpful is I get two magazines Quick Cooking and Taste of Home and each month I try quite a few recipes out of these.  Quick Cooking is my favorite.   Iam thinking of subscribing to Light & Tasty since I am trying to lose a bit of weight.   In the summer and I am busy I subscribe to Saving Dinner which provided you with a shopping list and menu for a week already set up for you.  They have a new menu I saw on their site calle Frugal Menu’s I plan on trying that this summer I think.  ANd of course I frequently check out cookbooks from the library.   I also do OAMC (Once A month Cooking)   I will make soup and things on the weekend and freeze them for later.  We are a two income family and I do work outside the home full-time but with planning I am able provide a meal every night.   I try very hard not to feed my family processed food, but do some.   Every recipe my family likes can be found on our family website

Sorry you ask???   LOL!!  That was a long answer!!

  1. It’s all right. I used to get Taste of Home. Long ago. My husband simply refuses to eat along whatever I learn to cook and well. He can also cook well, but he comes home soooo late sometimes.

He’s also Type 2 Diabetes. Bad habits learned early and easily, good habits learned late and hard. Aaaghhh!!!! He just wants good food and now… and my definition of good and his definition of good really differ.

    I keep trying.
