A twist to a childhood favorite……YUMMY!! My mom always made these but her recipe didn’t have peanut butter in it…a nice addition. I just made these.
Chocolate-Oatmeal Drops
2 cups sugar 3 cups quick oats
1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup margarine 1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons cocoa
Mix sugar and cocoa in large saucepan. Add milk, and margarine. Heat over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and quickly add oats, peanut butter and vanilla. Stir well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
Yield: 2 1/2 to 3 dozen, depending on size you make
They sound quite yummy! I may have to make a batch myself!
They sound like what we call down here in WV, “no-bake” cookies! For over the top yummy substitute brown sugar for the white…delicious!!!
My husband’s uncle is driving in from MN this weekend. He lives in St. Paul. My husband went to the U of MN for his first year of college. He keeps telling me we should go visit…I think I’ll wait until spring!!! LOL!
These sound very yummy! May just add them to our list of treats to make this year. Thanks for sharing it.
I made these just last night for the kids & believe it or not, they are ALL gone tonight! lol!
