I am a bit tired this morning.  We didn’t get out of the concert last night until 10:30.  I t was fabulous!   It was the first concert (a big one with over 9,600 people) that my children have been too.   I love taking my kids to their first anything.  The look of wonderment and excitement on Erik’s face was well worth it.  Trans-Siberian Orchestra isn’t like a stuffy orchestra, it is a Rock Band Orchestra.   Of course there are Cellos and Violins, but the electric guitars and amazing!    When they first started and the lazer show began Erik was bouncing in his seat.   At one point on the show, the narrator was telling a Christmas story that the music went with and he said “and it began to snow”.   The kids thought it was very cool that it began to snow in the Excel Center.   The final numbers had some fire pots and shot flames to the music.  That was Erik’s favorite.  It was a show to remember and a fabulous Christmas memory.   I am very thankful we decided to go.

Next month we are taking Tommy to Sesame Street Live since we took the boys to the concert and he had to stay home.  That was the first thing I took Erik to when he was little…he was talking about it last night and was asking if he could go with Tommy.   But I think he is a bit old for it…LOl!   Anyways it isn’t a weekend we have him.   The other thing we took Josh to that was really cool….STOMP.  That was a very cool show, he really liked that!    I love making these memories with my children, toys get broken and thrown away, but memories are forever and they make my heart happy.

I still remember in 2000 when we took the boys on their first plane trip.  Erik had everyone in the plane laughing since he was so exctied.  He didn’t exactly realize the plane would be leaving the ground.  That was a bit of a surprise to him.

I better get going….I have to get to work and Tommy is still sleeping.  I took some pics of our tree yesterday that I will have to share.   Have a great day!

  1. I’m glad you and your family had a great time.  The Sesame Street show sounds fun too.  My little ones would love that.  We went to Sesame Place in PA in August 2003 with free tickets from the military and we got to see a few mini shows that the kids liked.   Have a great evening!   ~Jen
