Tuesday night…and I am very tired! We decided not to go to the BBQ tomorrow night. We are just too busy. We need to finish up Erik’s paperwork for his neurologist appointment. Tonight was our weekly home cleaning. When I got home from work Josh had already started his chores of the night. Before I even got into the house Erik was in ahead of me and starting his chores. I never had to ask either one of them to do any of it! Erik cleaned both bathrooms and Josh mopped floors.

Hubby and I had a discussion tonight about school for Tommy next year. I didn’t want to go back to ECFE this year. I just didn’t feel like we were getting our money out of it. Our church is not doing the Families First on Wendesday night so we don’t have a class there for him either. So I thought he would just not going to school this year and only attend Sunday school. Hubby has VERY STRONG feelings about a good preschool for his son! So actually Tommy will be starting preschool this year and will be going to three years of preschool before going into Kindergarten. He will be going to the Lake Area Discover Center. The tution is in the moderate range. We will have to give up a few things to afford it, but well worth it for our son. My hubby would gladly pay any amount for an appropriate head start to Tommy’s education. I was worried that three years of preschool was too much. He already knows all his colors, most of this shapes and can count to 20. He talks in complete sentences and can relate stories to you. I am afraid that preschool might be a bit boring for him after a year. We will see…..he is a smart cookie.
Speaking of telling me stories….tonight Tommy and I were acting out the story of the Three Little Pigs….The little playset came in our monthly shipment from Brighter Vision an educational system we subscribe to and do with Tom each month.
Tommy as a piggy……boy did we have fun with this!!!
Tommy as the BigBad Wolf…..HUFF AND PUFF…
Those pics are too cute!
Cute pics! What a smart boy you have! That’s great!
A good preschool allows a lot of time play – if that’s the case, then Tommy won’t get bored, even after three years.
I’ve considered the Brighter Vision. Is it worth it? Or do they send a lot of stuff to throw away later?
Cute pictures! 🙂
About my seasonal table: I have a small table (bought it at walmart for $19.97 a couple of years ago, and actually it is a phone table) it has a top flat surface and a shelf on the bottom. I also have a empty popcorn tin that I cover with 2/3 yard of fabric that is seasonally coordinated. I also have a cute country shelf that is above the table w/a seasonal picture I framed in I think a 10×12 frame.
Each month or season I change the fabric, the knickknack accessories, candles, photo frame, the picture, my outside flags, outside wall hangings by the front door, etc… It took me about a year to gather all this stuff. I love my fall one the best. I have lots of stuff for that! 😉 I put it all in a huge rubbermaid tote box labeled: “seasonal table items”
I used to collect beanie bears TY, so I use the ones that look like that season on the table too.
I found alot of these items at rummage sales, used an old cute country calendar. My themes are:
December: Cmas (cute country santa stuff)
January: Cute country snowmen
February: Valentines day, so it’s red/pink/white with country hearts and whatever knickknacks go.
March/April: Easter theme so I have country bunnies, easter egg candles, small basket with grass and foiled chocolate eggs, etc…..
May: some kind of flowers or springy looking theme
June: Gardening/Sunflowers (find cute stuff at Michaels or hobby lobby or craft stores)
July: Patriotic
August: back to the gardening theme or just do sunflowers or anything summery (beach theme) I would like to do a Watermelon theme, but haven’t collected enough stuff for that yet! 🙂
September: apples and back to school
October: fall leaves and colors, pumpkins, scarecrows (we dont’ do halloween, just the fall stuff)
November: leave the fall stuff and add a few turkeys for thanksgiving
It’s really fun and i enjoy doing this. You can put a silk flowers or a potted plant on top of the popcorn tin.
Hope this gives you some ideas! Blessings! 🙂
I used an old country calendar that I framed and each month I rotate out the picture. (that wasn’t typed correctly in the previous comment!) 😉 And I forgot but for March I do St. Patricks day.
Alot of these I find after the holidays when the stores mark them down to 75% off and I can get it really cheap! 🙂
