Well another day at work…another crisis arises with another family.  Man….is it something in the air???  End of summer…what??  So I will be out doing home visits tomorrow with two of the families so it will be a long night.  Argh…last meeting is at 5:00 so will be late when I get home.   I should take Friday off since I will have all my hours in, but too much work to do.  I will take a day off when things mellow out!

Tonight was our meet the teacher night at Families First.  I am not entirely sure I will like it this year.   They are dividing the children up differently and seem like Tommy will just be in a daycare like situation.  I don’t need or want that.  We will see, I have paid my tuition for the first two months so we will see.

Tommy had a good time playing with the other children.  He enjoyed the slide, the garden and the balls.  He just loved watching all the other kids running around.   Speaking, the little darling is still up and refusing to go to bed.  Not sure what is up with that.  Argh….Paul just layed him down again in his crib.   Tonight Tommy figured out how to walk with one of those push toy walker thing….not sure what you call them.  He was going up and down the hallway independently.

I finally just decided to cut up the ham and freeze it since I can’t find the time to do a big cooking session right now.  So I made about 6 bags of cubes ham, 2 bags of ham dinner slices and one bag of ham steaks.

Well I am so tired, I am off to bed………………night!  I think Tommy is going to stay in his bed now.

  1. How is it different for Tommy this year than last?  Good thinking on the ham.  Would hate to have seen it gone to waste!

  2. It’s really interesting hearing about your work.  A good friend of mine is a social worker, too.  You know, everytime that I read something about Tommy, I imagine Tommy on Rugrats!  Isn’t that funny?!?  By the way, thanks for your support.

  3. I hope Families First ends up working out for you this year–I remember you writing good things about it earlier this year.

Good luck @ work.  Society is going through a rough spell if you’re busy in your job

  4. I think there is a lot of stress in families right now – economical and socially things are very tense.  And I tend to believe it’s only going to get worse before it gets better.  I’m glad there are caring people like you working in the system to help those families in need.
